Protecting Old Saybrook's Water Quality
Stormwater from roads, parking lots, catch basins, lawns and other areas can pollute receiving waters in Old Saybrook and elsewhere with eroded sediment, road sand and salt, bacteria, gas and oil from cars, litter, and other pollutants. It’s everyone’s responsibility to take actions to reduce this pollution. The Town, for its part, has prepared a Stormwater Management Plan (SMP) that went into effect July 1, 2017.
