Play Pickle Ball !

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

The Town of Old Saybrook had a ribbon cutting today (November 1, 2018) at the newly constructed pickle ball courts located in the rear portion of the new Main Street parking lot (across from The Kate). Approximately 20 pickle ballers were there to celebrate and play in this fast growing sport, which is described as a combination of tennis, table tennis and whiffle ball. The town has now mostly completed its remake of the site where the old police station once stood. The total cost of the project was $540,000 (parking lot and courts) and consists of 29 parking spots, a pocket park with Stony Creek granite benches and 3 pickle ball courts. The park was paid for with a $500,000 Small Town Economic Assistance Program grant and $40,000 from the Town’s capital non-recurring fund. We hope Old Saybrook residents as well as our friends from neighboring towns enjoy this excellent addition to our downtown.
