The Building Department is operational while maintaining current governmental guidelines as it is considered essential to community safety.  Please mail permits and relevant documents to the Building Department.  Permits can also be emailed with a check sent in the mail for the permit fee. Our Permit Application and fee schedule can be found on this website.  Inspections have been limited for the safety of the public.  Please contact the office for more details.

Town of Old Saybrook Building Official                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    

Responsibilities

The Old Saybrook Building Department issues permits for work to be performed on existing residential and commercial property as well as new construction in Old Saybrook, Connecticut.

The Building Official is responsible for enforcing the Connecticut State Building Code by reviewing plans for construction, issuing permits, and inspecting the construction work performed. This includes structural improvements as well as electrical work, plumbing, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.
