Special Town Meeting, April 4, 2023, 5PM
Notice is hereby given that a Special Town Meeting of the electors and citizens qualified to vote in Town Meetings of the Town of Old Saybrook will be held at Old Saybrook Town Hall – 2nd Floor Conference Room, 302 Main Street, Old Saybrook, Connecticut, on April 4, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. for the following purposes:
To amend section 192-8 section (c) of the town code allow a firefighter tax abatement to conform to state statute and have said section (c) read: “The first year of the implementation of this proposed revision as it concerns probationary and veteran firefighters with 25 or more years of service shall be for the tax assessment date of October 1, 2019, based upon points accumulated for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2018 and ending on June 30, 2019. Thereafter, in the years beginning on October 1, 2020, the tax abatement may be up to and including the maximum allowed pursuant to state statute. “
