Vital Records include birth, marriage and death certificates. The Old Saybrook Town Clerk’s office has vital record certificates dating to 1865 and indexed-only records dating to 1854. Vital records are held in the town where the event occurred and also in the town of residence for the recorded individual. While the Town Clerk’s office is happy to guide you through records, we do not perform genealogical searches. The Connecticut State Library has excellent references should you need assistance with a full genealogical search. The Old Saybrook Historical Society also has valuable information regarding prominent families of Old Saybrook.
