Let There Be Light In Old Saybrook

Every Night, April 1-30, 2020
Let there be light picture

There are thousands in our community and beyond who continue to go to work every day in order to keep our corner of the world safe, secure, and supplied. They can’t work from home and risk their own health and safety so the rest of us can shelter in place to stop the spread of COVID-19.

Let us offer support to the doctors, nurses, medical professionals, first responders, and other essential workers who keep food in the stores and medicine at the ready by shining a light every night in April.

Please turn on your porch light, put up some string lights, hang out your driftwood star, place a luminary on your front walk or simply light a candle to shine a light of thanks for today’s heroes.

Additional Note: Practice Social Distancing - use a form of light you 'already have in your house' rather than going out to a store! Those Christmas lights it seems you JUST packed away? Perfect! That candle you just received for your birthday? Perfect!

If you prefer, think about writing a thank you note to an essential worker you've seen out and about, performing their job to keep us all safe, informed, and cared for on Facebook or snail mail!
