Do I need a permit to remove an underground fuel tank?

Underground fuel storage tank removals do require a permit. Tank Removals require four steps:

1. A Fire Marshal Permit and a Building Permit obtained through the Building Department.
2. A Call Before You Dig Number. (800) 922-4455
3. Soil Samples regardless of conditions.
4. Notification and witness to the tank removal.

Please call to schedule an appointment at least 72 hours prior to tank removal.

As a courtesy, an inspector will witness the removal and document the tank and soil conditions.
